How do I join Cycling at OU?
Club Membership
Cycling at OU is open to everyone, even non-students, no matter what the experience. We're working on getting as many numbers as we can so everyone can have someone who's their skill level to ride with.
Membership dues for the club are $40 per year. Make checks payable to Oakland University with the memo "cycling club". Payments can be made at any club meeting or group ride, just be sure to hand it to an officer. Also, please type up a small resume with your info, your skill level, goals, and that sort of stuff. Benefits of club membership include... - being able to participate our multiple group rides - free riding of bloomer park velodrome (student members only) - 25% discount on accessories at Rochester Bike Shop (student members only) Team Membership
Due to University policy, the race team is open only to current OU students. There is no extra joining fee for the race team, any student who plans on racing is welcome to join. The purpose of the race team is to help reduce costs of racing. Since most races are really far away, it can get really expensive when you combine gas, housing, and race fees. The race team will be splitting these costs to make the burden less on everyone. For example, let's say one weekend it's $60 in gas and another $60 in housing. Let's also say that this weekend 4 people from the race team went. The four would split the total $120 to $30 each... get it? To join the race team, please e-mail Cruise (ccbogedi@oakland.edu) and let him know which races you plan on doing. This information needs to be known in advance since all race planning needs to be sent in about 3 weeks in advance. | Home | About | | FAQ | | Contact Us | | Joining | |
